This year we have a very unique opportunity to ride the V2V, and turn the 2 legs from Midway Utah to Castle Rock Colorado into a very kewl 5-day ride that will only require 3 days of “sick” leave!

FRIDAY MORNING JUNE 22nd:

We are leaving Castle Rock and heading south, mostly, to Monte Vista for what is possibly one of the most unique motels in the country, certainly in Colorado.  This motel is quite possibly the cleanest motel you have ever stayed in, cost will be $120 for a room with 2 queen beds or a single king, and a free GIANT SCREEN movie Friday evening.  Breakfast Saturday morning is included.

SATURDAY MORNING, JUNE 23rd:

We will be leaving Monte Vista, and heading north and west, winding our way over some of the best motorcycle roads Colorado has to offer.  We will end the day in Fruita, Colorado, staying at another super-clean motel that is a very short walk to about the best slice of pizza in Colorado.  Motel is about $60 a night, again double queen or single king room.  Bagels, coffee, fruit, etc. is included for breakfast.

SUNDAY MORNING, JUNE 24th:

Leaving Fruita to get some I-70 miles in early, then take what I think is one of the most scenic rides to Salt Lake City.  It’s the long way, but it is a spectacular ride on a motorcycle and makes that whole I-70 part well worth it!  We hopefully hook up with the guys in the V2V and ride an absolutely awesome canyon, over a mountain, and down into Midway, checking in to the Zermatt Resort.  This place is phenomenal and we have a room rate of about $150 a night, again either single king or double queen.  A bar and restaurant are on-site for evening meals.

They are waving the resort fee for the V2V participants and that savings alone will cover the cost of your breakfast!  The resort has access (for an additional charge) to one of the most unique swimming holes you have ever been in.  Email Graham to be added to the room BEFORE MARCH 31st.  Once booked the room is non-refundable.

MONDAY MORNING, JUNE 25th:

V2V will be leaving Midway, UT and heading NORTH to get to Meeker, Colorado.  This is one crazy-kool ride, sort of like Mt. Evans road on steroids, then about 45 minutes of I-80 before an insanely good ride back to Vernal, UT for a gas stop.  If I can convince the owner of Wimpy’s to open for us, we will have a late lunch then make our way to Meeker to the White River Motel.

Rooms are $80, your choice of single king or double queen.  Call 970-878-5031 for reservations, and be sure to mention, “they have a ticket started”, to be added to the group ticket.

Across the street is a very good place for breakfast.   Meeker has pretty good options for food, and the motel has gas grills if you want to go next door to the grocery store and grill something back at the motel.

TUESDAY MORNING, JUNE 26th:

We roll out of Meeker, north to Craig, then turn east to Steamboat.  We will turn off Hwy 40 to catch 131 and then back over Gore Pass to pick up Hwy 40 again thru Kremling and Winter Park.  We will catch I-70 back to Georgetown, over Guanella Pass, then down Hwy 285 to Conifer, and Pleasant Park, High Grade, Deer Creek, around Chatfield and into Castlerock.

The Comfort Suites is the motel and rooms will be about $130.  Evening get together will most likely be at The Rock Yard.

WEDNESDAY MORNING, JUNE 27th:

Leaving Castle Rock, heading east out over the prairie to Wilson, Kansas.
